The Six C's of Care
Our philosophy
At Koti Home Care, our philosophy is built around the 6 Cs of Care: Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage and Commitment.
These are not simply words displayed on a page. They shape how we work, how we make decisions and how people should experience support from Koti.
Care
Care means putting the person at the centre of everything we do. We take time to understand what matters to each individual, respect their choices and provide support that is personal, reliable and properly planned.
Compassion
Compassion means treating people with kindness, dignity and empathy. We recognise that asking for support can feel difficult, and we aim to make every conversation and every visit reassuring, respectful and human.
Competence
Competence means having the knowledge, skills and judgement needed to provide safe, effective support. We expect high standards, clear accountability and continuous learning from everyone representing Koti.
Communication
Good care depends on good communication. We listen carefully, explain things clearly and keep people, families and professionals properly informed. We believe concerns should be heard early and dealt with honestly.
Courage
Courage means doing the right thing, even when it is not the easiest thing. It means speaking up, challenging poor practice, admitting when something needs to improve and making decisions that protect the people we support.
Commitment
Commitment means being dependable and consistent. We are committed to building lasting relationships, maintaining high standards and continuing to improve the way our service works.
Together, the 6 Cs provide the foundation for the kind of service Koti Home Care is working to build: safe, respectful, well led and genuinely centred around people.
